2018 Naidoc Week

On Wednesday 18 July all the children were fortunate enough to be able to celebrate NAIDOC Week in a variety of ways.

The afternoon began with an informative talk from Brian for all students and was then followed by individual group sessions.

The sessions included -

Enjoying yummy Kangaroo Kebabs prepared and cooked by Senior Constable Larry Garlett.

Making and getting to eat damper with the help of Mrs Ethel Dalgetty and Mrs Kaye Crafter.

Dot Painting and hearing dreamtime stories with aboriginal elder Brian Champion.

Helping police officers Rachel, Ryan and Sergeant Dave Thirlwell get their daily 30 minutes of exercise!

The children had an exciting and entertaining afternoon with our fantastic visitors.

Brian is a Kalamaia Kalarku Kapurn Elder. The Kalamaia Kalarku Kapurn are the traditional owners of the land we are on.

We wish to thank all of our visitors who came in to share their expertise with us.
